2024 Burning Goat Festive Kit

It's been burned. It's been eaten by birds. It's been rammed with a car. What's going to happen this year? That's right, it's time for the 2024 Burning Goat Festive Kit!

What is the Burning Goat?

Every year in the Swedish city of Gävle there arises, out of the remains of the summer months, a goat. Not just any goat, no. It is, in fact, the Goat. Gävlebocken is an approximately 13-meter tall goat made of straw and is part of the holiday traditions in Gävle. The Goat, however, lives in a very precarious balance each year between beloved holiday symbol and the very human urge to wreck things. In the 56 years that the Goat has been erected, it has only survived mostly unscathed through the holiday season 19 times!

The Kit

This year's kit sees the Goat taking a break from it's job watching over the city of Gävle and hitting the road! We'll go on a bit of a journey through Sweden, and where the Goat will end up is the biggest surprise! The kit consists of 25 x 20 gram mini skeins that take a color journey in solid and semisolids. We're looking at a flow through the colors, with certain colors being connected to various places in Sweden. As usual, there will be informational cards and a number of little goodies included in the kit.

We are offering the kit on 2 bases this year: Merino Twist (100% Superwash Merino) and Socktastic (75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon). All minis are 80m/ 87yds per 20g.
