Description
As an American, I grew up with a number of different kinds of coniferous trees that could be used for a Christmas tree; a variety of different pines and firs with differing lengths and softness of needles, which was always part of the debate when we went to the tree farm to cut down our tree. Now I live in Sweden, and there is one (1) variety of conifer that is acceptable: the spruce. Called "gran" in Swedish, this is the classic tree. Spruce branches are also used in other holiday decorations, and that's where we are today. These branches are used in holiday wreaths and also as general decoration.
